Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Senior Director, Executive & Financial Communications to support its MedTech business. This role is based in New Brunswick, NJ at our worldwide HQ on a hybrid schedule.

About the Role

The global MedTech Communications & Public Affairs (MT CPA) team works across MedTech businesses and regions to build brand reputation, drive business growth, activate internal culture, and impact society. As a key MT CPA leader, the Senior Director of MedTech Executive & Financial Communications will develop and oversee a global team of communicators responsible for:

  • Executive communications and thought leadership for the Executive Vice President and Worldwide Chair of J&J MedTech, including communications platform development and organization of media interviews, speaking engagements at external meetings and events, investor engagements, and employee Town Halls

  • Business development communications, including communications leadership of multi-billion-dollar acquisitions and divestitures

  • Financial communications, including ownership of strategic positioning of J&J MedTech’s financial performance in quarterly earnings materials, financial media engagements, investor engagements, and employee communications

  • Business communications partnership with the MedTech Value Creation Office, which oversees mobilization of the MedTech-wide business strategy and transformation, select MedTech-level strategic capabilities, and a variety of global initiatives aimed at strengthening business performance and creating value for shareholders and other stakeholder groups.

Key business clients for this highly visible role include the MedTech EVP and Worldwide Chair, Chief Financial Officer, VP of Business Development, and VP of MedTech Value Creation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing, public relations, or journalism. MBA preferred.

  • 12 years' professional experience, including managerial, coaching and leading talent.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful thought leadership and positioning strategies for a C-level executive in a global, highly matrixed organization.

  • Financial communications experience from strategy to execution, including creating quarterly earnings' content for a public company.

  • Experience leading communications for a large, complex acquisition in a public company.

  • Experience in executing change communications programs as part of a wide-scale business transformation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for different audiences.

  • Strong understanding of digital communications channels and proficiency in leveraging them to drive business results.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and market trends to inform communication strategies.

  • Experience managing crisis communications and mitigating reputation risks.

  • Executive presence and strong business and financial acumen.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.

  • Ability to travel 20%

Salary

The base pay range for this position is $163,000 - $282,900 USD

Bonus

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
