Indium Corporation Captain & Director of Maintenance, Aviation in New Hartford, New York

JOB SUMMARY: The Captain and Director of Maintenance, Aviation is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of the company-owned aircraft. This role ensures that all domestic and international flights comply with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) or relevant countryspecific regulations. The Captain and Director of Maintenance, Aviation adheres to the Aircraft Flight Manual, following all standard, abnormal and emergency procedures, while maintaining compliance with company operating protocols, the Airman Information Manual (AIM), and other technical documentation critical to aircraft safety, and any other technical documentation related to the safe operation of the aircraft.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

• Responsible for aircraft maintenance and repair, maintenance planning, administrative duties, and related budgetary issues

• Participates in trip planning, including confirming trip with schedulers, fuel planning, filing flight plans, completing weight and balance, communicating with passengers, and ensuring rental cars and hotels are available

• Performs pre-flight inspections, as required (i.e., weight and balance, maintenance logs, checking weather conditions, filing flight plans, etc.)

• Arranges passenger accommodations and handles any special passenger requests as needed

• Performs post-flight inspections, clean-up, and paperwork as required or assigned.

• Prepares aircraft for next flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passenger

• Completes all required paperwork, including maintenance feedback form, entering trip information in Pre-Flight Manifest, and turning in completed fuel data records.

• Stays current with department information, procedures, required licenses, and all safety classes and procedures, including researching and reading FARs/AIMs, Operation Specifications Manual, and other technical and regulatory publications to maintain knowledge of general aviation operational requirements and activities

• Participates in company and FAA training courses required to maintain flight status compliance with FARs, Flight Operations Manuals, and Aircraft Flight Manual

• Updates manuals and develops and conducts trainings as required or assigned

• Performs other duties as assigned or required

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license certification required

• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate

• First-Class or Second-Class Medical

• Meet TSA security requirements

• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

• Valid passport

• Minimum of 4,000 hours flight time, including 2,000 hours multi-engine turbine, 1,000 hours as PIC

• Must be available for all shifts

• Extensive travel, including abnormal hours, overnights, weekends and holidays

• Residence within one-hour driving time of Indium Headquarters is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) with the ability to use internet sources

• Must be able to lift and load luggage up to 50 pounds

• Team player with excellent communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidential information

• Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

• Falcon experience preferred

WAGE DISCLOSURE:

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
