Indium Corporation Human Resources Total Rewards Specialist in New Hartford, New York

JOB SUMMARY:

The Total Rewards Specialist (TRS) is responsible for the accurate and timely handling of employee time, attendance, benefits, leaves, payroll, events, rewards, and recognition programs. The TRS will ensure employee needs are well-served and records are well-maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures. In addition to working under the direction of the Human Resource Manager (HRM), the TRS may also take direction from subject-matter and legal advisors as well as internal partners such as but not limited to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or Security team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

• Updates and maintains Human Resources databases and gathers, analyzes, and prepares associated reports. Databases may include:

o Employee time management system, employee payroll system, human resources policies, procedures, forms, and guidelines folders in SharePoint, job applicant tracking system, employee benefits portals, corporate directory, human resources team activity calendar, and event scheduling

• May audit, reconcile, and submit weekly payroll hours worked and benefit time used

• Provide support and training to supervisors as needed

• Provide support and information to employees as needed

• Process payroll changes

• Audit and process employee-provided information for completeness and accuracy including but not limited to W2s, benefit elections, direct deposits, 401K deferrals and loans, and garnishment orders

• Update salary or wage changes and ensure subsequent Wage Theft Protection Act (WTPA) forms accurately completed and filed

• Process other financial activities including adjustments, bonuses, taxes, and workers compensation • Handle benefit expenses including insurance fees and paid leaves

• Initiate, coordinate, communicate, process, and drive leaves to close

• Assist employees with any payroll and leave questions or concerns

• Produce standard and custom reporting, as scheduled or required

• Assist manager with preparation, auditing, and filing of statutory reports including but not limited to ACA, Affirmative Action, EEOC, Veterans, 1094, and 1095

• Daily point-of-contact for payroll and leave vendor inquiries

• Work with and support 3rd party activities including internal or external audits

• Attend training as needed or assigned

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• GED or High School Diploma required; associate degree in related field preferred

• 5 years related experience required; 10 years preferred

• Accounting background or experience preferred

• Certified Payroll Processional (CPP) or Certified HR Professional HRCI-PHR or SHRM-CP preferred

• Highest attention to detail and accuracy with outstanding organization skills

• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently with verbal or written instructions

• Ability to teach and mentor

• Ability to audit financial transactions and work of others

• Ability to perform under pressure

• Ability to develop an understanding of Indium Corporation products and services

• Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

WAGE DISCLOSURE:

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.

The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.

$17.00 per hour - $24.00 per hour

($35,500 - $50,000 annually)
