Amergis Healthcare Staffing is hiring MRI Techs. An MRI Techuses magnetic resonance imaging scanners and related equipment to capturespecific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine and extremities on patients of all ages effectively adjusting scanning parameters for different patient body habitus. Selects and modifies technical factors to enhance images; uses flare and SAT imaging techniques. Determines appropriate equipment for scanning up to but not limited to body coils.

  • Must be able to closely follow a physician’s instructions, prepare and operate MRI equipment, position patients correctly and effectively record the requested diagnostic images.

  • Identifies gross pathology in the human body and adjusts T1 and T2 scanning parameters to provide pertinent information for interpretation. Adjusts parameters of equipment to minimize risk factors to self and patient.

  • Performs Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, reformats and MIP imaging. Performs specialized exams

  • Uses magnetic resonance and adjusts parameters to minimize exposure to patient and self. Follows established protocols and uses scanning techniques to include, window and contrast levels, scanning time sequences, scanning delays, scanning thickness, FOV, scout images, reformatting, images reconstruct and 3-D image reconstruct. Photographs, archives and retrieves images.

  • Performs quality control for procedures and equipment. Documents system failures and variances in the appropriate logbook and arranges for service when necessary.

  • Certified to start and remove IV lines for contrast studies per established departmental policy and procedure. Identifies and responds to IV contrast reactions up to and including calling emergency personnel.

  • Proficient in the use of an IV Contrast Power Injector.

  • Identifies each patient, reviews each patient's requisition and previous studies for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data on MRI requisition at all times.

  • Responsible for performing comprehensive screening of patients and other individuals before allowing them to enter the MR system room.

  • Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.

  • Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images.

  • Maintains daily patient MRI log documenting patient information to ensure the quality of patient care, i.e., type and amount of contrast used.

  • Performs computer skills and shows working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient changes and profiles. .

  • Adheres to all Amergis and worksite rules, policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

    MinimumRequirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in the radiology field

  • Registered with the ARRT; if required by state regulations or contract specification.

  • Two (2) years of experience in related field preferred.

  • Current BLS card.

  • Successful completion of Amergis Staffing Solutions testing process.

  • Current physical exam, if required by state regulations or contract specifications

  • Current TB test or chest x-ray

    -Sat, Sunday 8:15AM-10PM and Monday8AM-10PM, rotation call

    Requirements:

    -2+ years of relevant work experience

    -Certification required

    -Breast experience

    -COVID-19 vaccine + booster,seasonal flu shot
