Your Role

The Manufacturing Process Engineer for the Forging department will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and improvements of the cold heading process.  You will be an expert resource to the Operations team, understanding the specifications and requirements for our production equipment.  This role is suited to someone who enjoys both hands-on tasks and time spent evaluating data and developing improvements.  You will work with multiple internal departments at our New Hudson facility and work with our U.K. process engineering team to ensure consistency and common methodology across the organization. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Essential Duties

On site resource to solve manufacturing process problems.

You will provide technical assistance on troubleshooting cold heading equipment mechanically.

You will support cold forging tooling design and trials.

Identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, waste reduction, safety/ergonomics, etc.

You will advocate to develop tools and fixtures to support lean manufacturing.

Research new manufacturing methods to improve process efficiency.

You will analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.

Investigation and resolution of process and product deviations.

Work with manufacturing personnel to develop processes and procedures.

Specify required preventative maintenance tasks.

Prepare technical documents to support improvements, processes, and changes.

Support process transformations to accommodate new products and improvements to existing products.

Lead process trials and implementations for new products.

Other responsibilities as required.

2+ years' experience leading projects and/or working on small teams

Share knowledge and teach proper methods and procedures.

Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products.

CAD experience in tooling and fixture design.

Ability to travel locally as needed. Education and Qualifications

B.S. in an Engineering related field preferred.  Equivalent experience of 5+ years in process improvement may be considered.

Minimum of 5 years of Cold Header experience, preferred.

Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, required.

Must be able to legally work in the U.S. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time. Physical Requirements (As Applicable)

Ability to safely move about a large production facility as needed, on a regular basis.
