The Internship role will work across our motorsports programs to assist in virtual and physical development. The goal of the internship role is to gain experience with Pratt Miller and the motorsports industry while providing value to the competitive advantage to Pratt Miller and our racing programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Physical Development

-Work with the Motorsports Technology Group members and staff from the motorsports programs to develop, test, and race complex engineering solutions

-Participate in new vehicle development through subsystem design, testing, and build tracking

-Travel, as needed, to tests and races to observe the race engineering process and assist in testing of development activities Virtual Development

-Participate in virtual development projects which can vary from vehicle dynamics simulation to software tools development

-Research and capture the requirements/scope for development projects and participate the tracking of development to ensure alignment with customer expectations

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required:

-Additionally, short-term projects may be identified which will help further the intern’s exposure to the motorsports industry and accomplish tactical projects

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Desired Education:

-Enrollment in a university level engineering program – mechanical, electrical, computer, or software engineering degrees are most typical, but others will be considered

-Candidates in their in their 3rd or 4th year of a university level program are preferred

-Strong motivation to be a part of the motorsports industry

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

-Stress may occur periodically

-Long hours may be required at times

-Travel of up to 20% is required
