Pay - IAM member starts at $24.98 to Top Rate of $28.35

Position Summary:

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Setup and operate brake press folding machine to consistently produce work of accepted quality at a productive work pace on any job assigned

  • Operate overhead and walk behind cranes.

  • Operate power industrial trucks.

  • Read and properly interpret blueprints.

  • Check work with measuring instruments.

  • Perform related tasks, including routine machine care and maintenance, material handling, recordkeeping and any other duties as assigned by supervision.

  • Plan and perform diversified work of average complexity with frequent physical effort in handling and moving material.

  • Practice safe work habits including PPE requirements and all safety rules.

  • Comply with plant rules and attendance rules.

  • Prioritize work using general guidelines to respond to multiple, simultaneous demands and requirements efficiently without losing composure.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to count accurately and have basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).

  • Ability to read, write legibly and carry out verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner as needed to complete assigned duties.

  • Ability to use CRT/computer/bar code reader to retrieve and/or input data.

  • Ability to plan work to maximize utilization of equipment.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED

One year of work experience in a heavy, industrial manufacturing environment preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist/turn, bend/squat, climb, reach below knees and reach above shoulders on a continuous basis.

  • Frequent use of powered material handling equipment.

  • Frequently required to lift/carry up to 15lbs unassisted, occasionally lift/carry 16-50lbs unassisted.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
