POSITION DETAILS

Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) supports motivated students earn an associate degree within three years. The program emphasizes enriched academic, financial and personal support including comprehensive and personalized advisement, career development, tutoring, scholarships, OMNY cards and textbook funding.

Reporting to the Associate Director for Recruitment and Collaborative Strategies, the Recruitment Coordinator is a member of the team responsible for guiding all recruitment efforts.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview information, other key duties include, but will not be limited to the following:

• Assist and facilitate information sessions for prospective students

• Support pre-admission advisement for all applicants

• Support field recruitment through high school and college fairs and community events

• Represent ASAP at internal and external events

• Support the maintenance of relationships with pre-matriculation programs

• Assist with the supervision of Student Ambassadors

• Support the maintenance of the recruitment database

Evening and weekend hours and local travel may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM

Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience is required.

PREFERRED

• A strong understanding of the needs and challenges of diverse student groups

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organization, project management, communication, and facilitation skills

• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of student information

• Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Access and Excel)

• Experience with Qualtrics, texting platforms, Hobsons Connect, and the aptitude to learn new systems

• The ability to work in-person and remotely

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) helps students earn their college degree as quickly as possible, by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students confront. Key ASAP program features include a consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, required full-time study and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Financial incentives include tuition waivers for financial aid eligible students, yearly textbook vouchers, and MetroCards for all students. Further information is available at www.cuny.edu/ASAP.

The ASAP Recruitment Coordinator coordinates and contributes to ASAP student recruiting activities.

  • Conducts information sessions and initial intake appointments to ensure ASAP applicants are fully informed of

requirements and processes

  • Assists in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations

  • Maintains relations with CUNY pre-matriculation programs

  • Provides information about the ASAP program and its services in person or by telephone, email, or letter

  • Coordinates ASAP Student Leader activities

  • Maintains current information about College programs and degree requirements

  • Performs related duties as assigned

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary range is $57,517 - $65,946; commensurate with qualification, education and experience.
