Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. Associate Director, Clinical Intelligence in New York, New York

Responsible for maintaining, improving, and expanding the ETL pipelines used by Advanced Analytics group and implementing strategies for new data aggregation and refining entity matching algorithms based on data storage architecture. Monitor system performance and proactively find solutions to enhance user experience, and enhance back-end infrastructure through optimized database design to ensure efficient data handling. Identify and analyze new data sources to support clinical research. Actively support clinical operations for patient recruitment from site identification, estimation of enrollment rates, to the investigation of enrollment challenges. Provide various clinical alerts to the clinical team, which will help optimize the execution of clinical trials, including contributing to risk monitoring, creating quantitative models to support strategic drug development decisions. Collaborate with front-end engineers on data processing and curation, with a focus on facilitating data access and visualization for cross-functional needs. Contribute to the expansion of Real-World Data visualization tools alongside Real-World Data Scientists. Use SQL and Python and other open-source frameworks to perform data engineering, data analytics, and produce tangible data products to serve the needs of the business. Involve in introducing new and next generation technologies to support relevant internal stakeholders in clinical research by improving efficacy of established process. Drive, collaborate and align with internal stakeholders to ideate and build solutions in the next generation data analytics space to help the business improve efficiencies. Lead and support the use of our data assets, both in the traditional and alternative data domains, in new creative ways. Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate new devices that might be used for the clinical trials to ensure that the new technology would provide values. Keep abreast of the latest trends in data analytics and technology. Deliver data science solutions, including managing and prioritizing data science and business intelligence requests and turning them into clearly defined projects for the team, with well-defined parameters and deliverables. Build strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders and serve as strategic advisor to multiple functional areas across the organization. Builds rapport with senior leaders to achieve departmental objectives. Required Education: Master’s degree in data science, computer science, business intelligence, applied mathematics, statistics, or related discipline (or foreign degree equivalent). Required Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry or medical research. Other Requirements: At least 3 years of experience managing direct reports and working cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders; At least 5 years of experience with SQL, Python and/or R; At least 5 years of experience using open-source software libraries for advanced analytic; At least 3 years of experience with industry data standards including CDISC/SDTM CDISC/ADaM and common data models including OMOP. 9-5, M-F. $163,238 - $209,500/year.
