Associate Portfolio Manager (Quantitative Equity) at LMR Partners LLC (New York, NY). Responsible for maintaining an in-depth understanding of market conditions and trends to effectively strategize quantitative equity trading and investment decisions. Day-to-day job duties include: •Managing a portfolio of capital within the allocated risk limit as directed by the Managing Quantitative Equity Portfolio Manager and the wider Risk Committee; •Building systematic portfolio optimization tools and VaR-based hedging models; •Developing, maintaining, and reinforcing relationships with external banks and brokers; •Assisting the Investor Relations and Marketing team in keeping existing and potential investors informed on the firmʼs strategy; •Liaising with the Operations team to book and settle trades correctly; •Liaising with the Technology team to develop appropriate trading systems to support the strategy; and•Conducting day-to-day activities in compliance with the firmʼs compliance policies and procedures.The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or, a closely related financial or quantitative field or foreign equivalent, plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a Trader, Assistant Portfolio Manager, Associate Portfolio Manager or equivalent position in quantitative trading. Experience must include: •5 years of experience in developing quantitative trading strategies; •2 years of experience working on the buy-side; •5 years of quantitative and statistical analysis experience;•2 years of experience in managing Gross Merchandise Volume in excess of $100 million USD; •2 years of experience in analyzing and trading China A Shares; and •5 years of coding experience in Java and Python.Compensation range: $200,000-$215,000 per year.
