PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

HR Workforce Analytics drives HR business process improvements, which include the following duties:

-systems automation,

-providing HR workforce reporting analytic solutions and visualizations,

-fulfilling day-to-day data analysis requests across the agency, and

-overseeing user permission access authorization for HR Central applications.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Business Intelligence Analyst you will collect, analyze and present data to help DOHMH make informed business decisions. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Workforce Analytics the Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will perform the following:

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

--Gather and analyze business requirements and translate business needs into long-term business intelligence solutions leveraging the Microsoft SQL Server platform (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS).

--Contribute to the development lifecycle including gathering and understating of requirements, database and report development using SQL Server 2008 R2/2012.

--Develop prototype views and reports of the data, and work with business users both internal and external to refine their requirements. --Build solutions for Management Dashboards, KPI's Reporting and Operational Business Intelligence.

--Design and monitor construction of user-facing presentation tools, such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.

--Develop stored procedures and complex functions and views for use in analysis and reporting. --Develop queries in SQL to provide ad hoc reports, analysis, and datasets based on business needs.

-- Develop Tables, Database objects, ETL Packages, Reports, Cube Models and support the existing components.

--Develop database views to extract data via a consistent means for daily ETL processes routines using SSIS Troubleshoot data issues, validate result sets, recommend and implement process improvements. --Create and maintain the logical and physical data models for the production and Business Intelligence data warehouse and data marts.

--Define best practices and standards for the data modeling process.

--Perform maintenance and administration of the database platforms and data protection needs as they relate to the database platforms and solutions.

--Conduct performance tuning of existing data structures. Identifies critical integration issues and develop corrective solutions.

--Perform Unit testing and resolve defects Lead the design and construction of an enterprise data warehouse.

--Analyze existing complex systems to understand and document data elements, relationships, data flow, dependencies and their related interfaces.

--Communicate with team members to assess progress of deliverables.

--Explain and teach business intelligence and data warehouse concepts throughout the bureau.

--Demonstrate self-reliance in researching technical solutions and product functionality.

--Continuously improve upon existing approaches by seeking opportunity to creatively transform current business practices into fresh alternative solutions.

--Establish and implement standards and strategies for data management, lifecycle, and quality.

--Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, operations;

  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to information technology service management, process management, operations;

  3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
