POSITION DETAILS
The Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment will report to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment will be responsible for the following duties:
Oversee the entirety of the undergraduate admissions and recruitment team of approximately 25+ staff members and responsibly manage the budget.
Develop and implement all strategic decisions regarding admission selection for incoming students. This includes shaping the admissions selection process and being data informed to enroll the highest performing class which meets the College mission.
Oversee all admissions operational activity to ensure efficiency, ethical practices, and transparent data keeping. Utilize modern technology to keep operations as efficient as possible.
Organize and strategize on the implementation of undergraduate recruitment initiatives, including digital marketing, communication plans, print materials, on-campus experiences, off-campus visits, student ambassador program, and Welcome Center operations.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders including high school guidance counselors, principals, community college transfer offices, and non-profit leaders, to maximize Hunter’s presence in all markets.
Member of the executive planning committee for all orientation activities, including overseeing the orientation leader program. Collaborate with all other enrollment services offices to ensure a smooth transition for all incoming students.
In collaboration with the AVP for Student Affairs, oversee the strategic selection process for scholarships specific to new/incoming students including freshmen scholar cohorts, transfer scholarships, community scholars, and others.
Oversee the College Now office to ensure enrollment and academic performance goals are met.
Work collaboratively with the AVP and other key stakeholders throughout the College to implement a strategic enrollment plan for new students which meets academic and financial institutional goals. This will include advising on expansion into new regions based on market research and trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree preferred
Demonstration of increasingly responsible, administrative experience in higher education
Experience in Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment in a Public Institution as well as expertise in the applications of technology to these fields
Excellent, writing, editing, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Commitment to the values of the liberal arts education and appreciation for work in a diverse and fast paced work environment
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Active drivers license

Manages overall recruitment and admissions processes
Develops recruiting strategies for the College and/or specific programs or groups and works closely with academic departments, programs, and administrators to coordinate marketing and recruiting
Manages the development and distribution of recruiting materials and communications of all kinds
Manages admissions operations and staff, including coordination with outside organizations and University administration
Oversees department budget including developing detailed proposals to support recruitment and admissions
Evaluates and reports outcomes; uses information in statistical, fiscal, and other reports to make improvements to the recruiting process
Performs related duties as assigned.
