Job Title: Facilities Support Assistant IIGrade: 14Salary: $52,753 - $63,167The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Facilities Support Assistant II at the New York State Psychiatric Insititute (NYSPI).The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and upkeep of the facility, including most of its assets. Responsibilities will include performing a variety of routine general maintenance tasks, handling assigned work orders and Preventative Maintenance inspections, dealing with incoming work requests, communicating existing and potential issues with your supervisors. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform physical tasks which involve lifting and moving heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), walking, stooping, standing, pulling, etc.Duties and Responsibilities:• Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling and electrical work as required.• Evaluating, repairing, and maintaining plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC systems in the building.• Receiving and responding to customer requests of mechanical or maintenance issues on the premises.• Solving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various production and facility equipment.• Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.• Reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, electrical schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance work.• Assembling and disassembling/installing new machines, equipment, etc.• Keep accurate records using CMMS or paper records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.• Cleaning and maintaining the tools you work with.• Abiding by all safety measures and policies.Minimum Qualifications:• High School Diploma and/or GED.• At least two years of maintenance experience in an institutional or industrial environment required.• A minimum of two years’ experience with general skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and preventive maintenance required.Preferred Qualifications:• Five years of maintenance experience in an institutional or industrial environment.• Electrical or HVAC licensing preferred.Work Location: 1051 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10032To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://nyspi.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
