Role Overview: New York Life is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Internal Mobility Lead & Early Career Program Manager to create and manage a comprehensive internal mobility experience, while also leading the strategic direction and execution of our firmwide early career programs. This role will blend talent development, program management, and cross-functional leadership to improve our internal mobility for all employees while enhancing the onboarding, performance, and growth of early-career talent, including interns and full-time hires.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in career development, program management, and employee mobility, and be able to build strong relationships across teams such as Talent Management, HR Leadership, and division-specific early career program managers. This person will ensure New York Life’s internal mobility process supports our long-term succession and talent pipeline strategies, while also overseeing the execution of consistent, high-quality experiences for interns and early career hires.
What You'll Do:
Internal Mobility Experience Development:
Design and implement a comprehensive internal mobility portal for current employees, housing tools and content to guide internal job seekers.
Enhance the job application process by leveraging AI tools for resume building, interview preparation, and other career development resources.
Collaborate with Talent Management and HR Leadership to develop and refine succession planning processes for senior-level roles across the company.
Drive communication and awareness of internal mobility opportunities, ensuring that employees are aware of potential career paths and resources available.
Firmwide Early Career Program Management:
Program Planning & Execution:
Lead the development and execution of New York Life’s firmwide early career programs, ensuring consistency and integration across departments.
Lead the project management for onboarding, orientation, performance management, and conversion process primarily for interns and enhance processes for full-time early career hires.
Manager Training & Support:
Partner with Talent Management to design manager training programs that focus on performance management, goal setting, and coaching for intern and full-time hires.
Provide support to managers, offering resources like playbooks, training materials, and ongoing office hours.
Career Development & Professional Engagement:
Develop opportunities for professional development, including workshops, speaker series, networking, and volunteer events.
Implement feedback loops to improve intern and early-career employee experiences, including engagement surveys and performance review data.
Conversion & Talent Retention:
Manage the intern conversion process in partnership with Early Career recruiters and company Program Managers, ensuring timely offer extensions and clear communication with program participants.
Data Tracking & Reporting:
Track key metrics such as program participation, conversion rates, performance management completion rates, and overall engagement.
Regularly report on program outcomes, providing actionable insights to senior leadership and refining processes based on data-driven decisions.
Cross-Division Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as the central point of contact for entry-level and internal mobility programs across the company.
Foster relationships with program managers across different business units, ensuring alignment of goals and consistent execution.
Partner with HR Leadership to implement a seamless succession plan for senior leadership roles, ensuring the future pipeline is strong and diverse.
Performance Management:
Ensure the performance management process for interns and full-time employees is standardized, consistent, and aligned with New York Life’s talent development goals.
Provide guidance on career pathing, offering recommendations for performance improvements and professional growth.
What You'll Bring:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Career Coaching) preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in program management, talent development, or related fields. Prior experience in early career programs and leadership development is strongly preferred.
Experience with career coaching or mobility programs in a corporate or higher education environment.
Skills:
Strong strategic planning, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to execute complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with career development tools and software platforms.

Pay Transparency

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
