Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Laboratory Assistant (Animal Research). In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing laboratory and animal rooms. Sanitizes animal cages and related equipment. Performs errands in support of departmental activities.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • CLEANING: Assembles necessary supplies and equipment needed to complete duties. Sweeps and mops all areas thoroughly. Empties all trash receptacles and disposes of trash properly. Disposes of laboratory waste in accordance with established protocols. Performs additional cleaning as required, or upon request.
    • CAGE-WASH MACHINE OPERATION: Cleans animal cages and equipment following established schedule. Prepares animal housing and equipment for cleaning process. Operates cage-wash machines correctly, following safety guidelines. Notifies the Supervisor in the event of equipment malfunction.
    • ERRANDS: Picks up and/or delivers items as necessary. Carries out errands according to Supervisor's instructions. Completes errands promptly.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High school diploma or equivalent
Able to speak and write fluent English.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $42,216.61 - $46,512.49 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
