1199SEIU Health and Human Services Employment Center Laboratory Technologist (F/T & P/T) in New York, New York
Conduct routine and specialized diagnostic testing for designated section/sections in the laboratory. Utilize standard and/or specialized techniques, as well as use various types of equipment and instrumentation to complete testing. Be responsible for reporting the results of the tests. Apply technical skills and knowledge to facilitate patient care. Provide timely and accurate results.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related science required. NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License and Registration required plus 1 year recent experience in one of the various areas: Blood Bank, Hematologist, Cytotechnology, Microbiology or Histotechnology. ASCP/NCA Certification preferred.
Position may be full-time or part-time and temporary or permanent, depending on need of facility. Weekend work may be required.
After one (1) year of employment, may be eligible to apply for our Education Program, to move on with your career in healthcare.
Salary: Starting salary is approximately $17.00-$20.00 per hr.
