Compensation Manager

Based in NYC-2 days in office required

Overview:

Hospital for Special Surgery seeks an experienced and self-directed Compensation Manager. This role contributes to the planning, design, implementation, communication, administration, and maintenance of compensation policies and practices aimed at enabling the hospital to recruit and retain the best talent. This person will work on the hospital's compensation programs and processes including annual incentive plan, market reviews, job evaluation, FLSA classification, compliance with regulations, annual processes, etc. This role provides support on various Compensation projects and activities on an as needed basis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs detailed compensation analysis and researches market data and trends to determine annual salary structure movement, cost of living increase budgets, geographic cost of labor differentials, and overall compensation trends to maintain competitive market position. Conducts modeling of compensation plans to determine financial and competitiveness impact.

  • Develops, maintains, and ensures consistent application of compensation processes and tools including salary structures, job descriptions, job evaluations, market analysis/pricing, salary administration, etc.

  • Acts as subject matter expert and assists HR and managers with compensation-related requests, issues, questions, and compensation program communications.

  • Assists with the analysis and administration of the annual incentive plans.

  • Ensures organizational compliance with all Federal and State employment laws, including but not limited to, FLSA, NY Wage Theft Prevention Act, NYC Pay Transparency, CT Wage Range Disclosure Guidance, NYC Minimum Wage, and other Wage and Hour Laws.

  • Supports the implementation of the new HR system. Assists with defining requirements, mapping out processes, automating workflows, user acceptance testing, roll out, supports post go-live, communications, etc.

  • Supports the activities of the Performance Management Team as needed.

  • Oversees various projects and activities related to HR, Compensation and Performance Management, including but not limited to, E RP implementation, technology enhancements, etc.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Detail-oriented professional with a minimum of five years (5) of compensation experience. Healthcare related experience preferred.

  • Experience with the administration of annual incentive plans required.

  • World at Work Certified Compensation Professional is highly preferred.

  • Analytical, problem solving, planning, and decision-making skills with a creative ability to identify and resolve issues and find solutions.

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment.

  • Promotes innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state wage and salary laws and regulations.

  • Significant experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Working knowledge of HRIS, preferably Workday.

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $150,000.00/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $160,000.00/Yr.
