HarperCollins Publishers Manager, Marketing & Publicity, Intl Sales in New York, New York

Overview

The International Sales Department at HarperCollins Publishers is looking for an experienced Marketing & Publicity Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with HarperCollins’ overseas offices and customers around the world. Reporting to the Senior Manager, International Marketing & Publicity, this person will be responsible for Marketing & Publicity of HarperCollins English-language titles (General Books, Childrens, and HQN) outside of the US.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with marketing & publicity colleagues at our affiliate companies and distributors in Canada, UK, ANZ, India, and South Africa.

  • Work closely with international sales reps and accounts in the Open Market to develop marketing and publicity campaigns for key titles.

  • Collaborate with US marketing and publicity teams to extend the reach of US campaigns.

  • Maximize opportunities with authors travelling or living outside of the US, or with large international followings.

  • Take the lead on international M&P campaigns for big celeb/franchise authors.

  • Coordinate with US teams on announcements and cover reveals, including providing international buy links for landing pages and participation in preorder campaigns.

  • Manage relationships with key international book festivals, including organizing virtual/physical author events and tours.

  • Collaborate with US publicity teams to coordinate media exclusives and reserve time for author interview/events on behalf of international affiliates.

  • Provide publicists at international affiliates and accounts with press materials, relevant title/author information, author access, and support for key titles.

  • Oversee creation of International Sales e-newsletters – Weekly Bestsellers and Monthly Highlights

  • Supervise one shared report on Intl M&P team

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of publishing experience in a sales, marketing, or publicity capacity

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills

  • Able to work well under pressure and capable of managing several projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrates a creative, innovative and resourceful approach to problem-solving

  • Must possess a strong working knowledge of MS Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and databases.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
