The Mount Sinai Health System MSHS X- Ray Technologists in New York, New York

The Mount Sinai Hospital is currently seeking X- Ray technologists for full time night, evening and per diem shifts. The X-ray Techs Performs radiographic examinations on patients referred by physicians in accordance with Radiology and Departmental protocols; including assignments to interventional procedures, operating room, cystoscopy and portables as needed.

  1. Assists, prepares and positions patients as required to perform radiological procedures

  2. Evaluates radiographs for technical acceptability

  3. Employs radiation protection measures and follows departmental protocols to keep exposure of patients and hospital personnel to a minimum

  4. Demonstrates evidence of collimating on all films OMIT

  5. Demonstrates radiographically visible evidence of shielding in all instances where appropriate, especially pediatrics OMIT

  6. Performs preparation of parental contrast medica and accessories required to assist the physician in performing procedures OMIT

  7. Maintains x-ray equipment in good working condition and cleanliness

  8. Reports all equipment problems to supervisor

  9. Processes radiographs and loads automated film handling equipment as required to complete the exam OMIT

  10. Maintains supplies and accessories in radiographic room necessary to safely perform duties

  11. Leaves x-ray room in an orderly fashion(ready for the next patient)

  12. Obtains/utilizes supplies necessary to meet job standards

  13. Schedules exams into DECRAD (Radiology Information System) as required

  14. Performs quality control tasks on film development equipment (sensitometry); records pertinent data as required OMIT

  15. Accurately records all required patient tracking information into Radiology Information System
