Job Description
The Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a pediatric oncologist to join the Neuroblastoma Service as part of a team focused on the continued development of the science and treatment advances leading to optimal outcomes for this disease in children and adolescents. We are actively seeking physicians that are BE/BC in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology interested in furthering their academic career.
Faculty will contribute to growing and conducting a large portfolio of clinical trials encompassing chemotherapy, radiopharmaceuticals, antibody-based immunotherapy, anti-NB vaccines, theranostics and personalized therapies directed by genomic findings. There is seamless interaction between translational and clinical research and clinical care and a well-established track record of innovation and developing unique therapies for neuroblastoma. This search is open to candidates at all levels of career experience and appointments will be made at an academic level commensurate with the appointee’s experience. As a member of the Neuroblastoma Service you will have the responsibility for:
Development and implementation of clinical trials for patients with neuroblastoma
Liaising with co-operative groups, consortia and pharmaceutical companies to initiate and implement clinical trials for patients with neuroblastoma
Translational of preclinical data from MSK translational laboratories to the clinic
Incorporation of clinical trials into clinical care of patients with neuroblastoma
Direct patient care for patients with neuroblastoma
Supervising and managing immunotherapy: antibodies and vaccines
MIBG and other radiopharmaceuticals; radioimmunotherapy
1-2 days per week in outpatient practice
Academic activities including publications, education of fellows, residents and APPs
Opportunities and clinical research activities related to other pediatric solid tumors
Although your primary responsibility will be the care of patients with, and research in neuroblastoma, there are opportunities for such activities related to other solid tumors within the solid tumor division.
Participation in departmental activities, including provision of inpatient care on a rotational basis with all oncology faculty in the department.
Candidate Characteristics:
Experience in design and implementation of clinical trials
Experience in translational research
Ability to work in a team environment including interaction with a large diverse team of care providers and data managers
Ability to innovate and think outside the box
Requirements:
Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New York (or must be licensed in another jurisdiction and be eligible for licensure in New York and New Jersey).
They must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Osteopathy (DO) or
Board-certified in Pediatrics; Board-certified or Board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
