The Kriegeskorte Lab at Columbia University's Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scientist for a BRAIN Initiative-funded project on the neural mechanisms and computational principles of face recognition, in collaboration with the Freiwald Lab at Rockefeller University. This project's primary goal is to identify the computational mechanisms of face recognition, using neural network modeling interacting, recursively, with neurophysiological recordings from the nodes of an fMRI-identified network of face-selective areas. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for building, training, and analyzing neural network models to implement a variety of computational theories of face recognition and to interact with experimentalists in the Freiwald lab.

The appointment is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on continued funding, work eligibility and performance.

The successful candidate will have some or all of the following characteristics:

* Completion of all requirements for a PhD in computational neuroscience, computer science, psychology, cognitive science, or related fields - Required

* Significant programming experience and skills in Python and PyTorch

* Significant experience with computational modeling
