The SC Johnson College of Business has an unparalleled resource base from which to draw-within the college, Cornell Tech in New York City, and Cornell University broadly.Our Team:The Cornell Executive MBA Metro NY Program provides working professionals the opportunity to pursue an Ivy League graduate degree by undertaking a rigorous twenty-two-month course of study in business management without interrupting their careers. Classes are delivered in-person at the Cornell Tech Campus on Roosevelt Island in New York City on alternating weekends, Saturday and half-day Sundays. Approximately 130-140 students are enrolled in the Executive MBA Metro NY each year. Students begin the program in mid-July with a one-week residential session in Ithaca at the Cornell University campus. A second Ithaca residential session is executed in January each year. Students also complete an international residency week in the second year of the program.

Program Director, Cornell Executive MBA Metro NY Program:

With broad responsibility for program execution, student support, and extracurricular activities, the Program Director assumes both strategic and tactical roles. They collaborate with Executive MBA colleagues, various school services and external partners to provide a life changing educational experience to students from diverse educational backgrounds, functional areas, and industries. The Program Director will support student recruitment and corporate relations efforts with the Senior Director of Admissions. They collaborate with the Executive Director of EMBA Programs, and faculty committees to develop and review curriculum. The Program Director shares responsibility for overall program success, including achieving admissions targets and operational excellence.


Ideal candidates will have extensive experience delivering reputed management programs.


Position Details:

  • Reports to the Executive Director of EMBA Programs
  • Interacts occasionally with the EMBA Leadership team, Dean, and other senior school executives.
  • Interacts regularly with prospective and current students, faculty, coaches, Admissions, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Alumni Affairs, Registrar, Career Services, corporate sponsors, and external service providers.
  • Provides directions, supervises, and inspires staff in the EMBA Metro NY team.
  • Works closely with the NYC facilities team to ensure Class Weekend logistics are arranged and executed smoothly.
  • Directs residential sessions in Ithaca and other locations.
  • Based at Cornell Tech Campus in NYC
  • Travels to Ithaca as necessary.
  • Travels to support Global Study Course as needed.
  • Frequently works weekends and evening.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing Proven experience connecting diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing practices to business goals.
  • Master's degree required (preferably in business management)
  • Demonstrated skill in understanding of cultural differences.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience as a team leader in academic settings (preferably in business education).
  • Strong communications skills; writing, editing, public speaking and multimedia.
  • Passion for management education and executive development.
  • Profound commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement processes.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office applications
  • Enjoys travel and interacting with prospective and current students, alumni, and business leaders.
  • Salesforce or similar CRM experience a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with complex academic organizations
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in complex and ambiguous environments.
  • Collaborative team player across functional departments and geographies
  • Strong sense of ethics, discretion, diplomacy, and protocol
  • Event planning experience a plus

This is a full-time position based in New York, NY and will provide hybrid work flexibility. Salary to commensurate with education and experience.
