Position Title: Regional Director of Culinary Programs & Development

Reports To: Sr. Director of Culinary

Salary: $125,000-$150,000

Job Summary

The Regional Director of Culinary Development brings a high level of culinary expertise and passion for training and development of people, and provides strategy and program vision and leadership to the culinary program. This role is a leader of the development team, as well as a core collaborator across other culinary disciplines and pillars.

The Director of CD will focus on culinary excellence, innovation through the lens of scalability. This position reports into the Senior Director of Culinary and will leverage their strong culinary and operational skills to partner with key stakeholders (culinary, marketing communications and engagement, strat ops, procurement, risk management, operations, learning and development) to create and promote the program standards, Google Food expectations and enhance user (partner) experience.

This role is based in New York, NY or Seattle, WA.

The Great Things You Will Do:

Ownership and leadership of culinary development , activation and training, including:

  • Creating culinary programing and training

  • Lead recipe and program development for internal and external food concepts

  • Program POC for internal and external food concepts

  • Use operational knowledge to analyze and identify "make vs. buy" and 3rd party vendor opportunities.

  • Define success metrics to monitor effectiveness of programing and training

  • Incorporate continuous improvement feedback and leverage KPIs to inform updated approach

  • CD programing materials

  • Creating development and training plans and schedules including coordination, tracking and execution

Ownership of program testing and launching process:

  • Leads testing and implementation of Google Food culinary initiatives and sector projects.

  • Coordinate robust pre-launch process to ensure all stakeholders and teams have adequate training and resources to enable high level day 1 operations

  • Continued adjustment of process as well as follow up training as required

  • Coordinate post mortem meetings to glean opportunities for improvement to training and activation plans for seamless transition between pillars

  • Maintain strong relationships with Operations Leads, and acts as the liaison and advocate to execute at the highest level

  • Drives culinary innovation, excellence and quality standards in the food and beverage program including

  • Sets an expectation of hospitality that is friendly and engaging

  • Manages and mentors team toward business goals, ensuring maturation and training development opportunities

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or comparable experience, preferred

  • 10+ years of culinary operations management experience required

  • Intermediate to advanced level experience working with and management of enterprise-level culinary software

  • Proven ability to manage data and documentation with an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Multi-unit restaurant or hotel experience, strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Understanding of the intentionality of the program and ability to make decisions as a program advocate

  • Ability to speak and present effectively in a group setting to Associates, Managers and our Partners and represent the Google Food Brand

  • Ability to translate asks into actual needs; separating the ask into the programmatic need; problem solver
