Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of high-impact Demonstration Projects strategically crafted to propel New York State's Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) agenda while syncing with our company's long-term strategic vision.

  • Provide strategic guidance and tactical direction to your team, ensuring that every project is not just executed, but optimized to deliver maximum value to our business and ensuring alignment with broader strategic objectives.

  • Ensure successful execution of projects by establishing and achieving schedule and budget goals while identifying and measuring key metrics to guarantee that each project delivers the intended insights and innovations.

  • Forge strong relationships with customers, alternative energy providers, and internal business units to identify new business opportunities, including new revenue models, that advance the Company's position at the forefront of the energy transformation.

  • Articulate scope and objectives of our demonstration projects to various internal and external stakeholders including senior management, internal working groups, key external parties and policy makers.

  • Foster collaborative partnerships with fellow New York utilities to drive alignment and amplify the impact of our collective efforts by exchanging insights and experiences concerning business strategies, partnership dynamics, project execution, and regulatory compliance, etc.

  • Oversee the preparation of regulatory submissions, quarterly reports and interrogatory responses in regulatory proceedings.

  • Evaluate regulatory commission statements, recommendation, rulings as well as stakeholder comment filings related to REV to evaluate impact and inform approach to Demonstration Projects.

  • Craft compelling marketing and media relations strategies to communicate goals and benefits of our project portfolio to customers and other key stakeholders.

  • Represent the Company at industry conferences, meetings and with external stakeholders showcasing our commitment to innovation and collaboration of demonstration projects.

  • Perform any other tasks necessary to ensure successful execution of demonstration projects and support the broader CES organization.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years relevant experience managing complex organizations and/or projects or

  • Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience managing complex organizations and/or projects.

Relevant Work Experience

  • Proven track record in managing projects with multiple sub-projects showcasing your ability to coordinate complex initiatives. Required

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing diverse teams. Required

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal skills necessary to engage and influence executives, customers, business partners, regulators, public officials and other external stakeholders. Required

  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments and deadlines. Required

  • Demonstrated experience leading fast-paced, project-oriented teams. Required

  • Demonstrated ability to creatively identify solutions, technical and non-technical, to address the evolving industry challenges. Preferred

  • Ability to identify and capitalize on new areas of business opportunity within the emerging technology landscape. dynamic landscape of emerging technologies. Preferred

  • Ability to navigate the regulatory landscape, connecting opportunities and challenges across regulatory proceedings while collaborating with regulators. Preferred

  • Experience implementing program recommendations grounded in thorough technical and financial analysis. Preferred

  • Work experience managing large service provider contracts, exhibiting your ability to handle complex contractual arrangements. Preferred

  • Working knowledge of regulatory processes such as preparation of rate proceedings, responding to commission orders and responses to interrogatories. Preferred

  • Experience with business operations in the areas of engineering, purchasing, contracting, scheduling, logistics, and cost control showcasing your comprehensive understanding of operational dynamics. Preferred

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.

  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
