Job Overview

The Senior Compensation Manager is part of the Global Compensation Team, designed to assist People & Culture colleagues and IRC Managers and Leader across the organization to make compensation decisions that are consistent and fiscally responsible. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced organization, flexible about their day-to-day work, enjoys working with people from different cultures, and is not easily stressed by an environment where guidelines may change and be ambiguous at times. The situation is fluid and can shift quickly, but those who enjoy this type of role know they are helping people achieve our mission.

Major Responsibilities:

• Serves as the project manager for global compensation projects. As project manager, responsible for setting project objectives, coordinating staff and resources, setting deadlines, tracking progress, resolving issues, and communicating with stakeholders.

• Supports the writing, modifying, storing, and communicating of IRC’s global compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures. Supports the development and delivery of compensation related training.

• Works to standardize and harmonize IRC’s job evaluation and classification methodology and process globally. Works closely with HR Partners to conduct job evaluations and classifications for both existing positions and newly created positions, performing job audits as appropriate.

• Leads critical compensation programs and process such as the annual salary planning processing, including system configuration and testing, development of related tools and trainings for HR Partners and planning managers, and partnering with HR Partners in finalizing plans.

• Supports data collection and analysis for annual pay equity reviews and other compensation analysis to support leadership in making compensation decisions. Enhances existing techniques and establishes new ways of effectively and efficiently collecting and communicating data from and to global stakeholders, including the development of Excel models, MS Forms, and similar automation tools.

• Supports the development and maintenance of headquarters salary structures that reflect the organization’s compensation philosophy and support our mission. May support the development and maintenance of international salary structures as needed.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation regulations. Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes affecting compensation practices.

• Collaborate with multiple partners to facilitate compensation business processes in Workday. Consults with HR systems analysts regarding problems with programming and data integrity and makes recommendations for system enhancements.

• Researches and analyzes best practices, contributes to established compensation surveys and/or may develop and implement custom surveys as appropriate. Actively participates in external communities of practice.

• Other duties as assigned. IRC is a fast-paced organization, and duties will evolve and change over time.

Job Requirements:

Education: A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required

Work Experience: 7+ years of related experience with technical compensation matters

Preferred: Advanced proficiency using MS Excel

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

• In depth knowledge of compensation laws and regulations, benchmarking, salary structure design, pay equity, and other fundamental compensation principles.

• Experience conducting job evaluations and classifications and/or organizational design utilizing compensable factors; strong competence in reviewing and slating positions, analyzing job descriptions, and making salary recommendations based on internal equity analyses.

• Experience successfully leading and delivering special HR projects.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to model out and interpret complex data. Considerable knowledge and experience with using Excel for data analysis. Preference for experience utilizing Microsoft Forms, Lists, and PowerBI.

• Proficiency in compensation analysis tools and software. Experience with Workday HCM and advanced compensation modules including business requirement preparation preferred.

• Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet timelines, and work effectively in a matrix organization.

• A global and cross-cultural perspective of business and compensation issues.

• This individual should be comfortable navigating through ambiguity and present/share information across teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Shown problem solving and client service skills: the ability to provide support to staff and guide managers.

• Experience in a multi-cultural and/or non-profit organization preferred.

Working Environment:Depending on location, a hybrid home/office or fully remote work from home

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
