Autism Speaks Senior Coordinator, Special Events in New York, New York

Come join Autism Speaks as a Senior Coordinator on our Special Events Team!  Reporting to the National Director, Special Events Program, Senior Coordinator, will be responsible for supporting the strategic and operational special events fundraising plan by providing administrative support, project management, and customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Individual will be home based and should be located in the Tri-State area (NY, CT, NJ).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the national special events program, including but not limited to the Celebrity Chef Gala, golf outings, concerts and various galas.

  • Responsible for the silent auction within the signature event portfolio with expectation of achieving 100% of budgeted goal

  • Manage and grow the in kind program associated with the Celebrity Chef Gala, including silent auction packages, gift bag items, purveyors and vendor donations

  • Serve as the platform power user in programs such as StratusLive, Givergy, LO, Lytho and more.

  • Maintain all financial reporting for the department including processing invoices, updating weekly and daily Special Event revenue reports, and expense budgets.

  • Lead the operation of the fundraising incentive program which includes working with the vendor, ensuring timely delivery of all earned incentives, and coordinating deliverables for promotion of the program.

  • Maintain functionality and accurate content on all web platforms for all special events, in partnership with the web support and marketing teams.

  • Build relationships with regional and national vendors including event production companies, media, incentive vendors to help reduce overall costs associated with the special events portfolio.

    Position Requirements

    Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience

    Experience:

  • 2 -3 years’ work experience greatly preferred (administrative, fundraising, and/or special events) Knowledgeable of fundraising systems and software, preferably Blackbaud Luminate and Stratus Live.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Good decision-making and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency with Office 365

  • Critical thinking skills to identify issues, concerns and problems and develop solutions which can be implemented

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision

  • Ability to diplomatically engage with a variety of personalities in a positive manner

  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends

  • Flexibility to travel (less than 10%)

    Salary range is $50,000-$65,000, depending on candidate's relevant years of experience and geographic location.
