Job Description

Senior Head of Category Management is responsible for procuring products and services for Citigroup and manages the risks associated with Citi’s use of and reliance upon third party relationships, including outsourced arrangements, across all business lines and locations. Senior Head of Category Management defines and oversees the implementation of policies and standards that provide controls to assess and manage risks related to Citi’s third-party relationships and outsourcing arrangements. The goal of Senior Head of Category Management is to support Citi’s selection and management of third parties capable of providing products and services in a safe and sound manner and at a reasonable cost and to manage the risks associated with third parties.
Citi is currently seeking an emerging leader to join the Procurement and Third-Party Management Operational Excellence team. The Senior Head of Category Management is a strategic role that requires a blend of analytical prowess, market insight, and procurement expertise. The successful candidate will be a key driver of value and innovation within the organization, leveraging category management to achieve competitive advantage and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Analyze category trends, market dynamics, and company needs to develop and implement comprehensive category strategies that support business objectives .
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvement within the category through strategic sourcing, demand management and process optimization.
Conduct thorough market research to understand emerging trends, risks, and opportunities within the category.
Develop and maintain category dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators, spend analysis, and savings achieved.
Be a senior member of the P&TPM Operational Excellence team, a new team at Citi
Work with the Head of P&TPM Operational Excellence and Procurement leadership to conceive of and implement a standard and effective approach for category management at Citi
Collaborate with the Citi technology organization in support of implementing our category management framework
Partner with business stakeholders and procurement managers to build comprehensive category management plans for each of Citi’s supplier categories
Establish an effective mechanism to update category management plans as external or internal circumstances change
Conduct and incorporate leading practice assessments and benchmarking as required
Partner with Procurement leaders to “sell” the process changes and onboard and influence key stakeholders to support the implementation plan
Train procurement managers on category management best practices and the framework
Ensure value creation for Citi via world-class category management beyond Citi’s existing/BAU
Qualifications
Demonstrated track-record of sourcing excellence.
10+ years of experience as a sourcing professional.
Experience managing one or more categories
Required– has led the category management program in a significant procurement organization
Required– strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze complex data sets and translate them into actionable strategies.
Preferred – management consulting experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience with Procurement transformation is preferred
Experience within Banking and Financial Services or another regulated industry is required
Ability to influence across a global procurement team
Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities through the effective use of time management and organizational techniques
Unquestionable integrity and objectivity, with ongoing commitment to excellence and the ability to operate in diverse environments and cultures
Bachelors degree required

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
