Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) is the Merchant network of American Express that acquires and maintains relationships with Merchants who welcome American Express branded cards & B2B payment solutions. Our objective is to be an indispensable payments partner to our customers while simultaneously delivering differentiated products and services that meet or exceed customer needs. Our goal is to drive revenue growth and premium economics for both Merchants and American Express.

The B2B- Product, Partnerships, & Client Management (BPPC) organization within Merchant Services – U.S. is responsible for scaling supplier revenue, increasing acceptance through partnerships and new supplier solutions, and incorporating the voice of the supplier into our buyer-led, supply chain, and AP Automation solutions.

The Senior Manager, Strategy and Business Planning is an integral member of the new B2B Product, Partner, and Client Management leadership team. This position reports into the VP/GM of BPPC and will interact regularly with all members of the BPPC leadership team, as well as Merchant Services – U.S. leadership. The successful candidate will support 1) development and implementation of strategic business initiatives 2) management of business planning and investments and 3) coordination and communication of various colleague initiatives across BPPC, including colleague recognition.

Support and serve as the key advisor for the VP/GM in strategy development and implementation of key business-critical initiatives, focused on the following areas:

  • Talent & development

  • Business strategy and focus areas

  • Key partnerships to enable growth of revenue and successful Business Planning and Investments

  • Lead preparation for Strategic Quality Plan (SQP) and Business Unit Review (BUR) meetings, assessing and mapping business priorities and key investment needs

  • Coordinate and execute critical BPPC level meetings, such as town halls and VP leadership meetings

  • Manage operating expenses colleague initiatives and general business coordination

  • Act as the central point of contact for Blue Box Partners

  • Manage colleague activities such as PMP and Scorecards

  • Manage and evolve Rewards and Recognition Program

  • Oversee BPPC colleague engagement teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Exceptional strategic thought leadership and the ability to drive to key business insights

  • Superior project management skills and ability to work in a complex matrix and fast paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to build relationships, influence, and negotiate without direct authority

  • Passion, a Will to Win, take initiative, and drive business results

  • Sense of Urgency

  • Sense of humor

  • BA Required-MBA Preferred

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
