Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Sales Manager, you will be having the opportunity to:

  • Lead a team of highly skilled Account Executives who engage with Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs - defined as those businesses having annual revenues between $5-50MM), from prospecting to strategic account growth and acquisition.

  • Go-to-market acquisition, creating management plans, and team within assigned industry sub-verticals.

  • Support Local Government customers (Cities, Counties, Townships, and Special Districts) to allow them to achieve their procurement goals.

  • Determine the best go-to-market approach for Local Government vertical- SMBs, including direction for solution/product development and services.

  • Take lead on hiring open positions on the team and on-boarding new hires.

  • Develop and nurture Account Executives as they improve their skills, processes, and tools to effectively prospect, present, close, and grow adoption of Amazon Business.

  • Participate in customer meetings to support Account Executives (sales reps) as they work with their customers.

  • Represent the Voice of the Customer by working cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales Operations, Professional Services, and Product/Tech teams. There will be an especially important relationship with Marketing, so experience here is a plus.

  • Responsible for forecasting accurate pipeline and documenting and presenting business updates during weekly business reviews, monthly business reviews, and quarterly business reviews.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Business to Business (B2B) and/or Enterprise sales experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required

  • 5+ years of management experience of a sales team

  • Demonstrated track record of owning the sales life cycle including identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing opportunities across a wide spectrum of customer engagement levels

  • Demonstrated track record of positioning and selling solutions to new and existing customers and market segments

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience selling to Enterprise ($500MM+) organizations

  • 3+ years of sales experience selling to procurement roles

  • Entrepreneurial background with proven ability to deal with ambiguity, pivot quickly, adapt new process and run fast

  • Proven experience improving and creating new processes and structure to achieve goals

  • Experience on leading stakeholder engagements and presentations with senior and international leaders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
