COMPENSATION

$87,951-$124,834 (Grade E/588)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position is accountable for supervising and directing the development and preparation of efficient, economical and reliable subway schedules and work programs for several subway divisions. Responsible for electronic transmission of schedule data to Operations Control Center computer systems and other downstream users. Assists the Deputy Director in the preparation of estimates of financial impact of potential changes in NYCT labor agreements and the development of subway scheduling strategies and applications. Responsible for analysis and evaluation of service levels and running times for all subway routes within two or three operating divisions. Develop and coordinate training programs in the craft of scheduling for Schedule staff personnel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a major in management, engineering, mathematics, transportation planning or equivalent, and seven (7) years progressively responsible transportation experience, five (5) years of which must have been in the scheduling department of a large transit authority or firm, three (3) years of which must have been in a supervisory of managerial capacity; (2) years’ experience in computer science or design system OR a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience.

DESIRED SKILLS

Experience in computer- assisted scheduling of buses, subways, or traffic checking assignments are desired. Knowledge of Excel and Word. Very strong verbal and written communication skills are desired.
