Octane Lending Senior Product Manager, Financial and Risk Data in New York, New York

Senior Product Manager, Financial and Risk Data at Octane Lending, Inc. (NY, NY).Duties: Leading Octane to achieve success at our business objectives of automating financial and risk reporting, which enables our capital markets and credit objectives. Drive the data products and tools (e.g., SOT tables, convenience tables, business intelligence tools) roadmap and backlog of the Data team in coordination with the Engineering Lead of the Data Engineering team. Discover and scope new data mart expansion, reporting automation, and operational automation engagements. Partner with the senior tech leadership team to advance business intelligence initiatives and the data strategy at large, which includes expanding the number of data sources available to analysts, building, or integrating new tools to help teams derive business insights, and improving quality assurance. Identify and prioritize data product improvements that serve the analytics, reporting, and research needs of all business and engineering stakeholders. Serve as point of contact and advocate for data stakeholders, which includes assisting with data investigations, sourcing inquiries, tooling performance issues, and best practices. Maintain a culture of zero data errors in all of Octane’s external reporting, which is necessary to maintain our AAA rating and to advantageously price capital market products. Partner with the Data Engineering team’s scrum coach to propel scrum rituals for the team, while assisting with the growth and development of the team.Requirements: Bachelor’s in Mathematics, Information Technology, or related engineering field plus 4 years as a Product Manager, Analyst, or any occupation/position/role involving working at a data-intensive tech company. Experience must include: Managing cross-team dependencies and building and executing roadmaps; Applying knowledge of business fundamentals to how data impacts the success of a hyper-scaling startup; Working with data as an end-user, including designing and writing SQL queries, extracting data from a warehouse, and using that data to conduct analysis, create reports, and build visualizations/dashboards; Utilizing data querying IDEs, such as DataGrip, data visualization tools, and data discovery tools; Working with teams across various business units and understanding their distinct data needs; Conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis necessary to frame and solve complex problems; Assisting with data architecture design and implementation for third party software integrations with existing data architecture and ensuring seamless data flow to meet set SLAs; Ensuring accuracy in data reports and developing processes and solutions with engineers to ensure quality and reliability in reporting (data packages); Working with stakeholders and creating avenues to receive feedback on delivered features, while also providing ongoing support for delivered products and features; Ensuring positive user experience by developing analytical functions to solve problems and drive initiatives to improve existing issues and bugs; Participating and providing data insights for cross functional projects/products; Promoting SDLC process adoption and driving product adoption amongst users and serving as bridge between business and engineering teams; and Using the following technologies and tools: Database warehousing and RDBMS.
