As a Senior Technical Product Manager (PMT), you will solve some of the most interesting problems associated with providing secure, reliable, fast and highly scalable solutions while simplifying direct and indirect customer experience. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design, and develop innovative products and services. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You’ll work closely with a team of software and hardware engineering, manufacturing and operations, and supply chain experts to deliver a world class product and service at the right time, cost, and quality to Amazon’s customers. Experience in new software and hardware product development, cross functional core-team engagement, and working in a high paced environment is a must.

Key job responsibilities

  • Defining and delivering multiple new, significant products and solutions at a global scale, including but not limited to the products and services Amazon Devices and Services produces

  • Transacting your vision through Amazon Device leadership and across Amazon service teams

  • Owning the strategy and roadmap of hardware products and solutions and delivery of outbound messaging

  • Partnering with engineering to ensure investment is properly shared across operations and features

  • Interfacing with business customers in various roles to carry their voice into products and services

  • Leading meetings with engineering teams and executives

  • Developing and co-authoring business customer-facing publications such as narrative papers with stakeholder teams

  • Attending routine and critical meetings in Asia time friendly hours ( After 5PM Pacific Time)

  • Traveling domestically and globally up to 25%

A day in the life

The Sr. PMT is a high visibility, high impact role on both hardware and software. This flexible leader will have ownership of several critical hardware and software capabilities that further expand our offering.

You will gather business and functional requirements from customers. This person owns the overall hardware product roadmap and strategy while balancing daily execution of product reviews, customer engagement, demand planning, and more. This person will thrive by working independently with large, cross functional teams inside/outside Amazon. This PMT will enjoy creating clarity and transparency in ambiguous situations, and the end-to-end ownership over product development strategy and execution.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience managing technical products or online services

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • Master's degree in a quantitative/technical field such as computer science, engineering, statistics

  • Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time

  • Worked on Android, embedded or other devices

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrable experience in project management and coordinating/driving release schedules, including cross-functional dependency management

  • Knowledge of Bluetooth, BLE, device software systems and stacks from silicon (both MCU and SOC-based) to application and UX

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
