This is a Hybrid role in NYC - 3 days in the office 2 remote

The Senior Director - Cyber Strategy and Business Operations will lead strategic initiatives within the Cybersecurity team to support the implementation of the Global Cybersecurity program through alignment of objectives and resources, focusing on program management, process improvement, and enhancing standards of execution. As a trusted advisor, this individual will combine business acumen with technical knowledge to assist in identifying opportunities for improvement, developing solutions, and supporting Cybersecurity leaders to mature operations and ensure that the Global Cybersecurity program is optimized to operate as a centralized function while serving the needs of individual business units. This role will understand the key assets and processes, identify and evaluate risks and controls, and suggest incremental controls or risk mitigation strategies where necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation, definition and implementation of the Global Cybersecurity Strategy across News Corp

  • Drive innovation in cybersecurity practices and solutions to maintain a competitive edge and address emerging threats

  • Lead efforts to enhance Cybersecurity teams’ processes to increase efficiency, scalability, and quality of operations through informed continuous improvement

  • Conduct HQ cyber risk assessments to identify global risks, and oversee the development and maintenance of a comprehensive risk assessment and roadmap spanning all Cybersecurity teams to facilitate the realization of a risk management strategy

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive RACI chart across Cybersecurity teams to support capability delivery

  • Identify and remediate potential resource conflicts and dependencies across Cybersecurity teams’ initiatives and objectives

  • Align strategy and objectives with applicable laws, regulations, and organization standards

  • Collaborate with IT, Legal, Compliance, and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to cybersecurity across the organization

  • Oversee the definition and evolution and delivery of Cybersecurity metrics, KPIs, and OKRs

  • Ensure data quality to drive effective risk-based decision making within News Corp and its subsidiaries

  • Support development and oversight of budgeting and forecasting in partnership with Cybersecurity leadership and the PMO

  • Oversee execution of partner/vendor performance improvement plans

  • Establish and maintain effective information exchange between Cybersecurity teams and BISOs to support alignment of objectives

  • Implement and maintain a Request for Comments (RFC) process that incorporates business unit feedback on material initiatives, including the implementation of cybersecurity policy

  • Stay current with the evolving cyber threat landscape and incorporate emerging trends and technologies into the cybersecurity strategy

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of professional working experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Legal, Computer Science/Engineering, Cybersecurity, a related field or experience

  • Must have a strong understanding of security compliance, policy management, security frameworks (NIST) and regulations

  • Demonstrated experience with translating strategy into tactical deliverables

  • Solid foundation of security architectures and cloud computing environments

  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, through all levels of the organization and with customers

  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities

  • Proven ability to drive innovation and lead cybersecurity initiatives in a dynamic environment.

  • International work experience or experience working as part of a globally dispersed team is a plus

  • Comfortable working in matrixed organizations

  • CISSP or CRISC certifications not required but highly referred

Job Category:

Pay Range: $155,000 - $265,000
