Position Summary
The School of Nursing is looking to hire a Columbia University student to assist (in-office) with nationwide research studies exploring infection prevention and control or hospice use in post-acute care settings. The candidate will work with a team of researchers at the Center for Health Policy at the Columbia University School of Nursing.
Responsibilities
Duties will include:
- Assisting with programming national surveys in RedCAP or Qualtrics;
- Assisting with data management;
- Assisting with data cleaning in R or Stata, specifically survey responses;
- Assisting with statistical analyses of survey responses and publicly available datasets in R or Stata;
- Conducting literature searches;
- Providing assistance with conference presentations and posters: o Formatting posters according to conference instructions;
- Inputting data into tables and generating graphs for posters and PowerPoint presentations;
- Providing assistance with manuscript publishing and grant writing:
- Formatting according to author and grant guidelines;
- Inputting data into tables and generating graphs;
- Attending weekly research-related meetings (via Zoom), and;
- Performing other related duties, as assigned.
This is a Temporary position (up to 1 year).
This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the grant.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree and current enrollment at Columbia University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous research experience, working knowledge of Stata, and familiarity with Qualtrics or RedCAP is desired.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team.
Proficiency/experience in biostatistics, statistical analyses, data visualization or data science.
Working knowledge of R to perform basic commands.
