Job Description

As an SVP, Executive XD Director, you are a creative powerhouse who is highly strategic, but has an equal appreciation and passion for the craft of making things.

You aim to inspire not only your teams and clients by defining the creative vision and process for the organization, but also the larger Experience Design community.

You make connections, bring people together and elevate our craft and our work throughout the organization and beyond.

Scope

  • Experienced leader focused on building out creative teams to support and grow business needs

  • Able to identify areas of opportunity for business growth and client success

  • Accountable for outcomes and strategic decisions

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall creative vision and development process for the organization

  • Elevates our reputation among clients, media, opinion shapers and the XD community

  • Pushes the creative envelope, continually raising the bar on the quality of the client’s creative, while delivering successful solutions

  • Showcases client’s creative via awards, events, media, industry buzz, publishing articles, etc.

  • Motivates and inspires creative teams to consistently produce best-in-class work

  • Sets creative standards and goals that establishes a culture to foster the development of creative talents

  • Identifies key growth with current clients as well as oversees new opportunities and business pitches

Management/Leadership

  • Manages and motivates the XD team within the organization

  • Pushes the XD team to think and solution outside the box

  • Continuously improves communications and processes necessary for optimum creative output

  • Drives revenue and margin growth across current client roster

  • Champions the XD craft and organization throughout the broader XD community

  • Serves as the XD voice on the organization's executive team

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction or industrial design preferred

  • Not required but helpful to have a degree in a related field, such as library science, graphic design, animation or architecture considered. Minor in Marketing, E-commerce, Psychology, English, History, Anthropology a plus.

  • Required to have business administration related certifications.

Experience

  • 20+ years total work experience

  • 15+ years of professional experience working on complex software, transactional or ecommerce experiences, with medium to large sized teams, preferably in a cross disciplinary digital agency

  • 8+ years team management experience building, leading and mentoring XD teams

  • 8+ years biz dev experience

  • Extensive experience building, managing and coaching teams to help them create award-winning work

Compensation Range: $175,000 - $273,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
