Organization Overview: Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Purpose of Position: The Talent Acquisition Specialist reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager and is responsible for supporting Goddard Riverside’s recruitment lifecycle. This position will primarily focus on supporting the Talent Acquisition Manager and the hiring managers in review of job descriptions for clarity, job classifications, and legal compliance; completing preemployment verifications and background checks and working with the HRIS Coordinator and Payroll Accountant to onboard the candidate to the payroll system.
Schedule:Monday through Friday (some Saturdays required) 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Salary Range:$45,000 - $50,000
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties
Provides support for the Talent Acquisition Manager related to the employment lifecycle and provide first line of support to hiring managers
Collaborates with hiring managers and other key staff to update job descriptions/postings ensuring continued legal, program and funder compliance
Works to develop a thorough understanding of program culture, thereby helping candidates understand the opportunity to ensure the best fit
Seeks out and recommends new and creative ideas to proactively attract and recruit candidates through job postings, social media posts, career fairs, professional associations, local college/university recruitment and other advertising methods
Works with the Talent Acquisition Manager to foster relationships with educational institutions (e.g. local schools of social work), diverse professional organizations/associations to attract and recruit alumni and reach diverse candidates
Assists in the development and maintenance of a network of talent acquisition contacts, including online recruiting resources and staffing firms who facilitate both temporary and permanent placements
Assists in the administration of the Applicant Tracking System
Assists in the completion of all preemployment activities for potential new hires, which may include reference checks, previous employment verifications and background checks
Manages communication between candidates and agency – updates all parties
Drafts all offer letters
Facilitates a smooth onboarding process for new employees
Collaborates with HR Department and hiring managers to design increasingly efficient workflow strategies for talent acquisition process
Ensure compliance with hiring policies and procedures
Prepares weekly vacancy report for Executive Director
Assist with uploading new hire paperwork into the electronic document storage system
Place Business Card orders
Work with IT to create agency email address for incoming employees
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
Associate’s Degree
Will consider HS Diploma with previous HR experience
Previous Non-profit experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Previous experience working in HR or working in a position that has a role in recruiting and hiring a plus
Administrative experience a plus

Prior experience working with Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Suite

Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and assist in set up and breakdown of tables at recruitment events
