Robert Half CFO in Newark, Delaware
Description We are actively seeking an experienced CFO to join our team in the transport industry, based in Newark, Delaware. The CFO will play a pivotal role in overseeing the organization's daily accounting functions, guiding the organization's financial decisions, and managing the budget process. This role will also involve coordinating with external auditors, developing, and monitoring financial performance metrics, and overseeing regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Guide the organization's financial decisions and strategic planning in collaboration with the executive team
• Oversee the daily accounting functions, ensuring smooth operations
• Manage the accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable departments
• Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements
• Liaise with external auditors and oversee their activities
• Manage the budget process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Assess current accounting operations, propose recommendations for improvement and implement new processes
• Develop and monitor financial performance metrics for the organization
• Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
• Permanent staff within the accounting department
• Understand various insurance products for monitoring and risk management
• Act as a backup for A/P, A/R, and Payroll when necessary
• Oversee the monitoring of computer systems provided by outside vendors. Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a CFO or similar leadership role within the Transport industry, 4+ years of supervisory experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is mandatory
• Expertise in Logistics & Distribution and Transportation Services is required
• Proven proficiency in Accounting Software Systems including 3M, Great Plains (GPAC), and Great Plains Accounting
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services and CRM systems
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions, including Auditing, Budget Processes, Capital Management and Cash Flow Analysis
• Strong business acumen and ability to integrate business systems for optimal performance.
