Job Summary

This position is a direct report to the Director, IT. The AI Architect will support the strategic direction of the IT organization for AI; define solution architecture framework to support AI based solutions; provide leadership & oversight for AI based application design and development; define & maintain AI processes and controls; provide thought leadership for new and emerging AI solutions, in support of core business functions by evaluating end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Align and support with strategic direction of broader IT organization. Provide insight to the strategic vision/plans/roadmap and identify key innovative technologies and product enhancements that improves customer experience and simplify current landscape.

  • Provide leadership, oversight and guidance on AI application design and development, serving as an expert on technical capabilities of AI. Provide vision; define system and application architecture, problem anticipation and problem solving ability across the AI landscape.

  • Responsible for developing solution architecture framework to support AI solutions for core business functions, ensuring alignment with other products as well as the overall IT enterprise. Establish and maintain technology standards for AI solutions to ensure consistency, scalability, and security.

  • Design, document and maintain AI processes, report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team.

  • Establish a deep understanding of our customers’ business and technical needs and communicating key insights and findings to product team. Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for using AI to enhance business processes and outcomes. Recommend suitable AI technologies and solutions to address identified opportunities. Conduct PoCs to demonstrate the value and feasibility of AI solutions to business teams. Advise on the selection and implementation of appropriate AI models and solutions based on business needs and technical considerations. Perform thorough risk assessments of AI solutions, identifying potential risks and recommending effective mitigation strategies.

  • Responsible for establishing strong partnerships with vendors with clear expectations. This includes negotiating agreements, establishing service level agreements, and ensuring contracts are in place to support the product needs.

  • Facilitate and coordinate external benchmarking/best practice efforts and relationships with other business organizations.

  • Provide specific contributions as directed by Product Leader.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business or a related field.

  • 6+ years relevant experience within the information technology field or an industry with reliance on technical expertise.

  • Must possess demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Strong knowledge of AI / ML frameworks and tools, data science, data engineering, and software development principles.

  • 4+ years solution architecture experience with proven experience designing solutions for core business functions in the area of application architecture.

  • 2+ years of experience with designing software & hardware solutions used in large enterprises including AI, ML, Analytics or related technologies.

  • Experience in a team lead role through projects and other work planning experiences.

  • Proven experience with supporting large sized complex projects addressing issues & concerns to ensure project meet IT & business goals.

  • Strong experience with aligning project solutions to overall corporate enterprise architecture.

  • 2+ years proven experience supporting and coaching other solution architects / team members.

  • Work and communicate with a wide range of people – peers, vendors, staff members, broader functional and business leadership, and others. Consistently demonstrate professional, positive, and approachable attitude, demeanor and discretion.

  • Ability to proactively communicate technical topics in a clear, succinct, and relevant way.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned work proficiently, and demonstrated ability to effectively interact with external constituent groups and customers.

Desired

  • Advanced degree, e.g. Masters of Information Technology.

  • Relevant certifications in AI, ML, Data Science.

  • Strong leadership and influence skills. Ability to work through issues independently with successful outcomes.

  • Excellent teamwork, facilitation, relationship building, and negotiation skills.

  • Proactively identify key features, capabilities and areas of improvements needed within the products.
