Job Summary:

In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the Controller assists the Chief Financial Officer in executing the financial operations of the company. The Controller will oversee the timely and accurate reporting of all financial transactions including the closing processes and external audits. The position is responsible for oversight of the daily operations & strategic objectives of the agency’s accounts receivable cycle through implementation, maintenance and management of all accounts receivable business functions and procedures for the AR collection process including but not limited to Medicaid, commercial insurance, self-pay, State, Federal and local grants and contracts. This role provides supervision of daily activities of accounting, billing, accounts payables, and payroll.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS in Finance/Accounting. MBA or CPA strongly preferred. Five years supervisory, financial closing and audit experience required. Five years’ experience in supervision of credit/collections staff. Experience supervising medical billing staff in health or behavioral health setting required. Skilled with computerized accounting and accounts receivable software applications a must.

Job Requirements:

Duties:

  1. Assists the CFO in executing financial operations as assigned.

  2. Oversight of the timely and accurate reporting of all financial transactions including the closing processes and external audit reviews.

  3. Oversight of customer billing, cash receipts and medical record processing.

  4. Ensure proper recording of cash, management of outstanding invoices, and oversight of staff interfacing with customers on collection matters and dispute resolution.

  5. Ensure prompt action on delinquent accounts.

  6. Support management by providing timely and accurate payment and account receivable aging information.

  7. Produce monthly revenue & expense reports for management.

  8. Conduct and/or supervise internal audits and reviews in accordance with the standards of

regulatory and funding bodies.

  1. Coordinate and audit the production of monthly financial reports.

  2. Supervise the preparation of monthly statistical reports.

  3. Supervise the preparation of agency regulatory reports (example: CFR).

  4. Prepare and coordinate the preparation of material as requested by auditors for year-end audit.

  5. Ensure proper recording of accounts payable, accounts receivable, management of outstanding invoices, contract management and interfacing with customers on collection matters and dispute resolution.

  6. Post award administration of grants, tracking to budget and modify contracts as needed.

  7. Prepare analytic reports as requested to ensure the maximization of operational functions, revenue collection and expense control.

  8. Technical writing - documenting or updating Policies and Procedures for Finance department.

  9. Other job duties as assigned.
