Description:
The Shift Leader (SL) is responsible for supporting the General Manager (GM) and Assistant Manager (AM) in running a profitable restaurant and for making sure the restaurant meets the Company's critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (QSC) during their shift. The Shift Leader reports to the general manager and supports the AM and GM in leading a team of crew members. The SL serves as a partner to the AM and GM in achieving business objectives by offering ideas that may remove any barriers to success. They are responsible for executing administrative tasks delegated to them such as; inventories, schedules, etc. They are to be solution focused and share accountability on the overall results of the restaurant.
Requirements:
Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. A Shift Manager provides leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to ensure great Quality, Service and Cleanliness to customers.
Shift Managers perform a variety of tasks, which may include planning for each shift, monitoring performance during the shift, taking action to ensure the team is meeting McDonald’s standards, monitoring safety, security, and profitability, and communicating with the next Shift Manager to help prepare him/her to run a great shift, too. Shift Managers may also be responsible for meeting targets during their shifts and for helping the restaurant meet their goals.
In addition to following company policies and procedures, main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Is a role model for the standards and behaviors consistent with McMarro Company Policies and company culture
● Shows respect for others and is sensitive to cultural/generational differences
● Creates a positive and welcoming environment for all restaurant employees and guests
● Motivates team members to do their best by providing positive feedback, encouragement and making them feel part of the team
● Communicates difficult or sensitive issues at work to the GM, AM, or Supervisor in a timely manner
● Supports the GM and AM in the training of all employees
● Supports the GM and AM in addressing performance issues quickly and respectfully by coaching, counseling, and managing any conflicts during their shift
● Consistently follows the Company’s tools, resources, and processes, to prevent work related injuries and customer accidents (employees use appropriate safety gear, slip resistant shoes are worn, wet floor signs, are used correctly, etc.)
● Ensures breaks are given to employees according to policy
● Maintains composure within stressful and fast-paced environments
● Handles pressure and uncertainty with ease
● Has a "can-do" attitude, sense of optimism, ownership, and commitment towards meeting targets
● Embraces change and focuses on how we can make things happen instead of why we can’t
Qualifications
● Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods of time
● Must be able to perform the job duties satisfactorily, with or without a reasonable accommodation
● A can-do attitude and the ability to take initiative on projects
● Ability or desire to learn to do administrative tasks such as; schedules, ordering, inventory, etc.
● Have schedule flexibility to include availability to work all three dayparts (morning, afternoon, night) and work on weekends
● Full time employment as determined by the needs of the restaurant
● Serve Safe Certified - will provide training
● At least 18 years old with a valid driver's license or reliable transportation
● Willing to relocate to other restaurants in the organization if there is a business need or career growth opportunity
