Data-Mail Warehouse Supervisor - 2nd & 3rd shift (Monday - Friday) in Newington, Connecticut

LOCATION: Newington, CT (this is an onsite role, not hybrid, not remote)

WORK SCHEDULE: 2nd shift & 3rd shift

SUMMARY

Oversee all aspect of the warehouse operations for specified shift, from the time the material is received to the time it leaves. Work closely with internal departments, customers and outside vendors to manage material needs and support the business operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize, delegate and communicate all work functions to warehouse employees, as follows:

  • Prioritize Daily Tasks

  • Work closely with Kanban Process to ensure materials are pulled for multiple production departments in a timely manner to facilitate the workflow with the production department

  • Shipping and handling of outbound deliveries.

  • Organize & Process overnight and same-day packages for shipping

  • Oversee the effectiveness of Inventory Control

  • Audit and confirm inventories with account executives through cycle counting

  • Ensure all procedures are being followed by staff.

  • Communicate the status of functions to other shifts/departments in a clear and precise manner.

  • Follow through with the timely disposition of materials to be recycled.

  • Oversee the handling of leftover material for inventory review.

  • Ensure all employees adhere to Data Mail’s Safety, Security and Policies Procedures. Report any safety hazards or concerns to Department Manager and on –site Shift Manager for resolution.

  • Record all Close Call incidents and injuries on Accident report form, review with Department Manager, and file report timely.

  • Evaluate new employees and report progress to manager. Perform employee performance evaluation in a timely and professional manner.

  • Comply with company rules and regulation, and maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.

  • Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.

  • Keep manager informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.

  • Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company, and be flexible in work hours to support business needs including weekly and weekend overtime.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising employees in a warehouse and /or direct mail environment or equivalent

  • College degree Preferred

    COMPETENCIES

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of computers: Microsoft programs (Excel, Word)

  • Good interpersonal and supervisory skills

  • Organizational and analytical ability

  • Fork truck experience: Reach Truck, Clamp Truck and Propane Sit Down

  • Knowledge of FedEx and UPS Worldship Shipping Systems

  • Some Knowledge of Logistics
