The Social Media Manager is responsible for multiple social media accounts providing content calendar management, content creation, photography, and videography, in conjunction with the property and corporate directives. This role will support the Pendry Newport Beach Marketing and Public Relations team. This is a demanding and diverse role that includes a mix of responsible functions, tasks, project coordination, time management and creative work.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily social media posting across Pendry Newport Beach and The Elwood Club’s multiple accounts.

  • Build and manage content calendars in Sprout Social, ensuring all content is uploaded by set deadlines.

  • Create engaging content for social media posts including graphics, Reels, and written captions.

  • Develop photo and video content for the resort’s restaurants, spa, private members club, children’s club, hotel offerings, events, and strategic initiatives.

  • Community engagement on social media; Respond to comments and messages on social media platforms in a timely manner.

  • Analyze social media data and generate reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with property and brand marketing team to manage and execute photo shoots.

  • Provide support at activations and pop-ups for resort and private members club.

  • Stay up to date with new and emerging trends to help keep Pendry Newport Beach and The Elwood Club’s social media presence consistently relevant.

  • Identify opportunities for influencer hostings and develop dynamic, value-add partnerships with tastemakers and influencers. These partnerships will drive brand awareness, revenue generation and asset creation.​

  • Collaborate and work daily with all property teams, the corporate communications and marketing team, and external PR agencies.

  • Assist in maintaining brand consistency and respect of style guidelines set up throughout the property and brand.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or Public Relations.

  • 4-5 years of experience in Social Media Marketing and/or content creation.

  • Proficient in social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Sprout Social and editing tools such as Canva, Splice, CapCut, etc.

  • Meta Digital Marketing Associate certification and paid social experience are a plus.

  • Skilled at creative filming and editing content and imagery

  • Proficient at design tools including InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc.

  • Creative and innovative thinker.

  • Strong storytelling skills and expert written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for positive and effective communication with a diverse population.

  • Commitment to customer service (internal and external).

  • Ability to handle fast-paced environment and multi-task.

  • Knowledge of hospitality/travel industry an advantage.

  • Must be detail-oriented, as well as systematic/organized.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.

  • Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.

  • Works well independently and alongside colleagues.

  • Flexible and able to manage changing priorities.

  • Comfortable working with Associates at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders.

  • Ability to perform other duties as required.

    Additional Job Duties:

  • Must be open to working occasional holidays, weekends, and evenings to capture video and photos of specific events and initiatives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to sit at a desk for up to five hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. This includes traveling to and from meetings. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, talking, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.

The pay scale* for Social Media Manager is 75,000-80,000.

*The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Montage reasonably expects to pay for the position.
