Job Title: Marine Design Engineer

Job Description

As a Marine Design Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed designs, free-form surface models, and/or drawings based on concept sketches, photographs, scans, or clearly stated functional requirements. You will work closely with naval architects, engineers, and design team members to produce high-quality, detailed ship design products and drawings. This opportunity is part of an exciting project that we are currently ramping up.

Hard Skills

  • Experience in any of the following fields: hull, piping, mechanical, structural, and electrical

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (version 2014 or later)

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling

  • Experience in drafting methods, procedures, and techniques

  • Experience in the ship/marine industry

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work closely with clients and team members

  • Attention to detail in preparing designs and drawings

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 12 Month(s) with a high likelihood of extension.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Newport News, Virginia.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position located in Newport News, VA. Our working hours are typically from 7 am to 3:45 pm with a 45-minute lunch break. We provide flexibility in working hours as long as the core hours are covered. Tons of overtime will be offered, though it is not mandatory.
