Recently named by The Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts , our community based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a Spiritual Care Counselor to join its expanding team. Full time or part time positions are available. This position is eligible for a $5000 sign-on bonus.
Job Responsibilities:
The Spiritual Care Counselor is an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team responsible for assessing the spiritual needs of patients and their family members while providing the opportunity for spiritual exploration/ review in the context of dying. The SCC makes visits to patients in private homes and residential facilities throughout Greater Boston and parts of Metrowest. As a member of the counseling services team, the SCC participates in programming and events including support groups, Evenings of Remembrance and providing memorial services for partner organizations.
Education, Skills and Experience:
Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education required
Experience in working with patients and families required; medical or hospice experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated understanding of end-of-life and bereavement issues
Comfortable working with socioculturally diverse patients/families of all faiths
Demonstrated skills in clinical assessment including existential pain and symptom management
Proficient with electronic documentation
