SubCom Quality Specialist 3 - M2-Day in NH, United States

Duties and Responsibilities (*Indicates an Essential Function)

  • *Performs electro-optical tests on multiple sub-assemblies, assemblies and finished products.

  • *Generates incident reports to track non-compliances in the testing process.

  • *Interfaces with manufacturing and quality departments.

  • *Performs basic computer functions and works within multiple software applications.

  • *Follows verbal and written instruction, accepts increased responsibility and is accountable for his/her actions.

  • *Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices.

  • *Maintains a good safety record, has a working knowledge of the behavioral based safety initiatives and accepts the responsibility to communicate unsafe situations.

  • *Adheres to the safety and quality standards (goals and metrics) of the organization while working within a team environment.

  • *While interacting with customers and visitors, represents the Company in a positive manner.

  • Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department (through 5S as well as other improvement initiatives).

  • Responds to multiple production assignments in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.

  • Previous related experience (such as optical and electronic testing) and/or training preferred.

  • Must be able to pass a written, job related test.

  • Experience in the use of computers in a testing environment for software-controlled testing, knowledge of Windows applications a plus.

  • Ability to comprehend and accurately execute test procedures.

  • Ability to retain a high degree of responsibility while working with minimal supervision and be a productive member of a highly motivated team.

  • Basic knowledge of measurement techniques and equipment as used in optical and electronic testing, such as optical spectrum analyzer, voltmeter, etc. strongly preferred.

  • The ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the day.

  • Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments.

  • Ability to work any shift, including days, evenings, nights and weekends as determined by the supervisor.

  • Ability to speak, read and write English with technical proficiency.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Wear the proper personal protective equipment for each task, including, but not limited to, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, dust mask, etc

  • Climb up and down from equipment; climb up and down a ladder and work at heights up to 40’

  • Maintain proper balance while working at elevated level

  • Regularly lift and/or move 40 pounds. Anything heavier than 40 pounds requires additional assistance

  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, or handle objects, tools and controls

  • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, and climb stairs regularly

  • Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel or crouch frequently

  • Ability to talk and/or hear frequently

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Ability to work both indoors (regularly) and outdoors (occasionally) in all elements
