Position Description

A Bear Claw Café Shift Manager administers, directs and controls the effective and efficient operation of the coffee shop, TDR, and the burger bar on a shift to shift basis. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

Position Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

Must demonstrate leadership, fairness, and sensibility to the customers and employees.

Must possess ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in subordinates.

Education/Experience:

Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.

High school Diploma or its equivalent required.

Two-year Associate’s degree preferred.

Previous customer service experience required.

Minimum two (2) years food and beverage supervisory experience.

Must have general knowledge of all phases of full service dining.

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, coaching, team building and problem solving skills required.

Must be computer literate, including a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications as well as restaurant automated systems.

Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:

Must possess excellent communication skills.

Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.

Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.

Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

When on the casino floor, the noise levels increase to loud. Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.

Must be able to stand, walk and move through all areas of the casino.

Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and members of the business community in all situations.

Frequent reaching above waist, chest, and shoulder level, as well as below waist level.

Frequent to continuous need for manual dexterity of both hands (handling, gripping, fine finger control, etc.).

Continuous standing on tiled surfaces for all tasks.

Frequent hip flexion while walking for all tasks.

Occasional lifting of boxes of supplies / products weighing from five (5) to fifty (50) pounds vertically from floor to knuckle height.

Occasional lifting of milk crates weighing between five (5) to thirty (30) pounds vertically from floor to knuckle height, knuckle to shoulder height, or from fridge to counter height.

Some exposure to cold and below freezing temperatures (walk-in refrigerator and freezers).
