Tioga Downs is searching for both Part-Time and Full-Time Nail Technicians to perform professional nail, hand, and foot treatments for our clients. The technician must possess a thorough knowledge of the nails, including a basic knowledge of hand and foot massage techniques and a neat application of polish. They must possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills and be willing to train in our spa’s specific nail service offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide beauty solutions to meet the needs of our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide high-quality manicures and pedicures, which includes removing old nail polish from fingernails and toenails, cleaning nails, shaping the ends of nails, pushing back cuticles, and applying new polish based on clients’ preferences.

• Apply artificial nails as requested.

• Recommend various nail designs and nail art to clients.

• Evaluate the condition of clients’ nails and advising them on proper nail care and suitable nail care treatments.

• Ensure nail and massage supplies are adequately stocked.

• Provide quality hand and foot massages.

• Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.

• Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED or higher required.

• Demonstrated history of providing an exceptional customer experience

• Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.

• Must hold and maintain a current New York State License OR

• Have a current Nail Specialty License from a state which offers Endorsement and be willing to get licensed in NY prior to employment (Ex: hold current Nail Specialty License in PA and an official letter of good standing (certification), dated within 6 months, from the Appearance Enhancement Board where you are currently licensed)
