Tioga Downs Casino Resort Spa Manager in Nichols, New York

$65000/year plus Tips!!

Tioga Downs is hiring for a Full-Time Manager for Serenity Spa located in our Hotel. This manager will work collaboratively with the hotel staff and VIP programs team to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hires, supervises, trains, counsels and evaluates Spa Staff.

  • Ensures compliance of state regulations, company and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Create and adhere to operating and capital budgets to consistently meet profitability goals

  • Develop and implement an effective strategy of organization within the Spa, setting objectives for future growth.

  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, and Senior Leadership to create marketing policies and goals designed to attract customers.

  • Evaluate, develop and communicate standard operating procedures, elevated standards of customer service, manage budgets, approve expenditures and provide leadership to staff.

  • Obtain, create, and deliver team and individual training plans with regard to industry knowledge and company/department practices

  • Partner with Facility Maintenance team to ensure repair and maintenance of equipment and structure, meeting or exceeding sanitation and safety regulations

  • Maintain certificates/licenses/equipment per NYS guidelines

  • Ensure guests, team, and personal health and safety is maintained at all times, reporting any concerns in a timely manner.

  • Inventory and order supplies on a consistent basis. Ensure tools and linens are adequately washed, sterilized and stored.

  • Solicit feedback about services and facility cleanliness, handle customer complaints, and create customer service tools such as comment cards and surveys.

  • Partner with HR in setting up employee schedules, ensuring employees receive ongoing training, and attend team meetings held by management personnel. Prepare reports, presentations, and topics of discussion leading to positive and proactive change.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises the activities of all Associates in the Spa.

Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess and maintain a current New York State Cosmetology License OR

  • Have a current license in a state of Cosmetology Reciprocity along with required qualifications and be willing to become licensed prior to employment in NY (Ex: Have PA License and 2 years of experience with 2 experience statements from two different people, attesting that the applicant has been working as a cosmetologist for the specified number of years.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration preferred.

  • Minimum of two years of Spa Management experience required.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.

    Thursday & Friday 10AM-6PM

    Saturday 9:30AM-6:30PM

    Sunday & Monday 9:30AM-5:00PM
