Job Description: Mechanical Designer
This Designer will assist with both mechanical and electric design for existing and sustaining products. Responsibilities include designing electrical routings through compressors and starter boxes, managing wiring within starter boxes to various clipping points throughout the motor on different features, and designing sheet metal for starter boxes to be fabricated onsite by the manufacturing team.
The role involves spending 95% of the time at the CAD station handling drawings, engineering change requests, and bill of materials, and 5% on the shop floor checking quality and manufacturability to assess if design changes are needed. Initially, the focus will be on existing products for the first 9 months before transitioning to more product development.
Hard Skills
Associate's Degree in Engineering or Design/about to finish Associates
Understanding of electrical 3D routing for design
Knowledge of welding logos for design
Sheet metal design (break press) for sub panel casing starter boxes
2 internships or 2 years of design experience (not all wire routing design)
