BorgWarner Inc. Systems Development Lead in Noblesville, Indiana

DUTIES: BorgWarner Noblesville LLC seeks a Systems Development Lead based out of our technical center at 13975 BorgWarner Drive, Noblesville, Indiana 46060. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work from the aforementioned technical center address; from our office at, 2151 E Lincoln Road, Kokomo, Indiana 46902; and from home. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned addresses. Note, this position does not require travel. Maintain primary responsibility over the definition, planning, scheduling, and coordination of all systems engineering activities for assigned projects; Lead the systems development team in developing programs for electrified powertrain applications; Contribute to the overall project scope definition and objectives; Plan and schedule activities for the requirements, architecture, integration, functional safety, and cyber security engineers on the defined project; Define content and priorities of systems tasks using a formal task management tool; Serve as the key contributor to support the requirements development process; Mentor other System Engineers and System Development Leads; Track and report system activities progress to the project team; Drive systems related internally- and externally-detected issues to closure using root cause analysis, such as 8DDs; Ensure adherence of system team activities to the internal ASPICE-based development process; Review work products to ensure quality and consistency; Coordinate with the System Test Lead (SYTL) to ensure test coverage and traceability; Define, implement, and monitor performance metrics for the systems project team.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related engineering discipline and 60 months of experience in the job offered or related position in automotive engineering. Alternately Master’s degree in Automotive Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related engineering disciple and 36 months of experience in the job offered or related position in automotive engineering. Required experience must include: Experience applying systems engineering principles and guidelines (e.g., INCOSE); Experience using MS project and task management tools (including, Atlassian JIRA, IBM Rational RTC, and Polarion); Experience with V-Model Development Methodology; Experience applying requirements engineering principles; Experience working with electric propulsion, power electronic, software, or electrified powertrain systems; Experience working within an ASPICE-based process environment.
